Hays is partnering with a leading Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced Industrial & Employee Relations Advisor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team and play a key role in managing complex workplace matters.

Your new role

In this role, you will provide expert advice across a broad range of industrial and employee relations matters. You will manage end-to-end casework and partner closely with stakeholders to deliver fair, consistent and compliant outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing employee relations cases, including discipline, grievances and performance matters
  • Providing advice on legislation, awards, policies and industrial instruments
  • Preparing high-quality documentation, including briefs, reports and correspondence
  • Supporting enterprise bargaining and consultation processes
  • Contributing to policy development and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and union representatives

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced HR or IR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident managing sensitive and complex matters.

You will bring:
  • Experience in industrial relations, employee relations or HR
  • Demonstrated case management experience across conduct, discipline or performance
  • Strong knowledge of workplace legislation, policies and frameworks
  • Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to provide practical, risk-based advice and influence outcomes
