Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for employee relations, workplace integrity and supporting leaders through complex people matters?
We're partnering with a Federal Government organisation to recruit an APS6 Employee Relations & Performance Officer to join a newly established team focused on building a high-performing, accountable and values-driven workplace culture.
This is an excellent opportunity to work across a broad range of performance, conduct and workplace matters while partnering with leaders to deliver practical and people-focused outcomes.
The Opportunity
As a key member of the Performance & Integrity team, you will provide specialist advice and case management support across a range of employee relations matters. Working closely with managers, you'll help navigate complex workplace issues, build leadership capability and ensure matters are managed fairly, consistently and in accordance with legislative and policy requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice on performance management matters, including underperformance, probation and performance improvement processes.
- Coach and support managers through challenging workplace conversations and employee issues.
- Manage conduct and behavioural matters, ensuring procedural fairness and compliance with relevant frameworks.
- Coordinate and respond to workplace complaints and staff concerns.
- Assist with investigations, assessments and integrity-related matters.
- Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, correspondence and recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of policies, guidance materials and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and case management documentation.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- Experience managing performance, employee relations, conduct or complaints matters.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Experience coaching managers through complex people issues.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and sensitive matters simultaneously.
- Sound judgement, resilience and a solutions-focused approach.
Highly Regarded
- APS or broader government experience.
- Experience with conduct investigations or integrity matters.
- Qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Law or a related discipline.
