HR Manager from within the mining contracting, resources or heavy industrial sector for a newly created role.
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a high-calibre Strategic HR Manager to join a top-tier mining contractor delivering critical services to the Australian resource sector. This is a pivotal leadership role for a commercially astute HR professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and is passionate about shaping workforce strategy.
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will be responsible for leading and executing the HR strategy aligned to operational and business objectives across multiple large-scale contracts. Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, you will play a key role in influencing decisions at a senior leadership level, driving performance, and embedding a high-performing culture across the workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing a high-performing HR team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Partner with senior operational leaders to shape and drive strategic workforce initiatives
- Provide expert guidance on all people initiatives and act as point of escalation for complex employee relations, workforce planning, and organisational design
- Influence key business decisions through data-driven insights and commercial HR expertise
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across client, operational, and corporate stakeholders
- Champion initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and capability building
- Ensure HR practices align with regulatory, industrial, and safety requirements within the mining sector
You will be a proven HR Manager with prior experience from within the mining, resources or heavy industrial sectors within a generalist capacity. You will possess a strong track record of partnering with senior leadership in operational environments and provide exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing capability at site leadership level. You will have a passion for developing and mentoring a team and empower them to continue fostering a culture of support and accountability. It is essential that you have a commercial mindset with the ability to translate business strategy into effective HR outcomes, and have both resilience and adaptability to operate in complex and high-pressure environments.
