HR Business Partner
Duration: until 1st June 2026
Rate: $69 per hour + super
Location: Parramatta (Up to 2 days WFH negotiable once commenced)
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join a busy government organisation on a short-term contract. This role will suit a strong HR generalist with proven experience providing high‑quality advice across performance, conduct, and employee relations matters in a large and complex environment.
About the Role
In this role, you will deliver a full range of human resources services and partner closely with leaders across the organisation. You will provide expert, evidence‑based HR advice and support on key matters including:

Performance management

Misconduct matters and early intervention
-
End‑to‑end workplace investigations

Role description evaluation and changes
-
Coaching and guidance for managers

Preparation of briefing notes and HR advice for senior executives, including the CEO
You will play an important part in identifying capability gaps, supporting leaders to build confidence in managing people matters, and ensuring all HR advice aligns with relevant legislation and organisational policies. Sensitivity, sound judgement and discretion are essential when dealing with confidential or complex matters.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:

Strong HR advisory or business partnering experience
-
Previous government experience is highly desirable

Demonstrated capability in performance, conduct and case management

Experience preparing HR reports, briefing notes or formal written advice

Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills

Ability to exercise good judgement, empathy and professionalism
-
A sound understanding of HR legislation, policies and governance frameworks
