- Shape & elevate a strong safety function within residential construction
- Outstanding culture with genuine work-life balance
- strong pipeline across high-volume residential and medium density projects
Your new company
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing, values-led construction business that has quietly become one of the most respected operators in its space. With a proven track record, the business is scaling rapidly while maintaining an exceptional culture.
Led by long-standing, highly regarded construction leaders, this organisation prioritises people, quality, and sustainability of growth. Systems, safety frameworks, and governance are already well-established. What they need now is the right leader to elevate it further.
If you're looking for a business where you can genuinely influence outcomes, build a function, and be recognised for your impact, this is it.
Your new role
You will take ownership of a well-established OHSE function and shape its next phase, working closely with senior leadership to drive consistency, capability, and continuous improvement across a diverse construction portfolio. The first phase of the role is intentionally immersive, you will spend time on the ground, building relationships, understanding how the business truly operates, and identifying where you can make the biggest impact.
From there, you will:
-
Lead safety across high-volume residential and medium-density projects (including large-scale town house developments delivered concurrently)
-
Manage and grow a high-performing team of field safety officers
-
Translate insight into clear, practical improvement plans - this business values solutions, not just observations
-
Drive uplift in behavioural safety, training, and site engagement
-
Oversee systems (BuildPass), audits, compliance, and reporting - with everything already in place to build from
-
Collaborate across the broader business to align safety practices and elevate standards
You will have the autonomy, support, and platform to build something meaningful, not start from scratch.
What you'll need to succeed
-
Strong OHSE leadership experience within residential construction
-
The ability to step into a complex environment and quickly earn trust on site
-
A reputation for being solutions-focused, pragmatic, and commercially aware
-
Experience leading or mentoring safety teams and influencing operational leaders
-
Deep understanding of WHS legislation and site-based risk management
-
Confidence working across site and executive-level stakeholders
-
A genuine passion for improving both physical and psychological safety outcomes
Above all, you are someone who takes ownership, thrives on accountability, and wants to be part of a business where your work actually matters.
What you'll get in return
-
A rare opportunity to step into a leadership role with genuine influence and autonomy
-
Strong, stable leadership team with 10+ year tenure and a people-first mindset
-
A business that invests heavily in its people - from structured training to leadership development
-
The chance to build and scale your own team as the business continues to grow
-
A culture where performance is recognised - including proactive salary reviews, team events, and family-inclusive benefits
-
A balanced working model post-immersion (mix of site and office)
-
A highly competitive package including vehicle, phone, and laptop
Most OHSE roles ask you to fix broken systems. This one gives you the platform to elevate an already strong business and leave a lasting mark. If you are an experienced OHSE leader in residential construction looking for your next long-term home, not just your next role - this is worth a conversation.
