A central organisation in Canberra, established to provide adequate and suitable support and related services to members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families.

Business Area Overview
The Human Resources team is responsible for delivering high-quality HR outcomes across the organisation, from strategy and policy development to implementation and service delivery. The team works in partnership with stakeholders to:
  • Deliver HR services across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, remuneration, case management, and general employment matters.
  • Support the organisation's capabilities through workforce planning, learning and development, and performance management strategies.
  • Develop initiatives to build a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values diversity and promotes high performance and engagement.
Role Overview
The Senior HR Advisor (Projects) will be part of a dynamic team providing HR advisory functions related to people relations matters. This role will drive the project to redesign, implement, and publish a suite of people policies compliant with legislation and best practices, aligned with the new Enterprise Agreement. The ideal candidate will:
  • Be a strategic thinker, finding new ways to deliver effective policy and procedural documentation.
  • Be a strong communicator, engaging with Subject-Matter Experts to provide context for documentation.
  • Have excellent research and writing skills to ensure compliance with legislation and the EA.
  • Have a strong understanding of policy and process.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the People Relations Manager, Director HR Operations, HR Business Unit, Subject-Matter Experts, and Staff Consultative Group.
  • Deliver HR-based projects and provide authoritative HR advice.
  • Design and develop policies, procedures, infographics, and forms.
What You Require
  • Qualifications and experience in generalist human resources.
  • Experience delivering HR-based projects.
  • In-depth understanding of legislative obligations arising from PS Act and Regs, Fair Work Act, SRC Act, and other employment-related obligations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing HR policies and procedures.
