Your new role

As the Senior People and Culture Officer, you will work closely with the People and Culture Manager to deliver high-quality HR support across the employee lifecycle. This is a broad and varied role encompassing recruitment, employee relations, compliance, reporting, wellbeing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating recruitment, onboarding and induction activities
  • Providing advice and support on employee relations matters
  • Managing rehabilitation and return-to-work cases
  • Supporting performance review and development processes
  • Preparing HR reports, workforce data and compliance reporting
  • Reviewing and maintaining HR policies and procedures
  • Managing HR administration, contracts and employee records
  • Supporting employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Experience in a senior HR, People and Culture or Human Resources role
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Experience managing end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Exposure to employee relations, performance management and workplace investigations
  • Experience with rehabilitation and return-to-work case management
  • Strong reporting, administration and organisational skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and HRIS skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
Previous experience within education, schools or the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.
