Are you an experienced WHS professional looking to join a major construction project delivering critical infrastructure in Canberra? An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Safety, Quality & Environment (SQE) Supervisor to join a well-established national construction organisation with a strong reputation for delivering complex commercial projects across Australia. Working as part of a high-performing project team, you will play a key role in driving site safety, quality and environmental outcomes while supporting project delivery on a significant construction development.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Project Manager and supported by an experienced state-based SQE leadership team, you will partner closely with site teams and subcontractors to ensure compliance, manage risk and foster a strong safety culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing and monitoring project Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems
- Conducting site inspections, audits and compliance reviews
- Reviewing SWMS, risk assessments and subcontractor documentation
- Supporting incident investigations and corrective action processes
- Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality and environmental performance
- Building strong working relationships with project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a WHS, Safety Advisor or SQE role within construction or another high-risk industry
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or higher qualification
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and construction industry standards
- Experience working on commercial, infrastructure, industrial, defence or large-scale construction projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive and practical approach to risk management and site safety
